A career in Urban and Environmental Planning almost guarantees a job with Local, State, or Federal Government as nearly 70% of all Urban and Environmental Planners are employed by Government Agencies. The are a wide range of opportunities in Urban and Environmental Planning but most focus on establishing planning processes in order to further our protection of the environment in urban and rural settings.

SUNY Oneonta offers a Undergrad major in Environmental Sciences with a Environmental Planning Concentration. The program allows students the flexibility of selecting to pursue studies that will guide them towards a career or additional studies at the Graduate level.

The University of Florida’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning program offers a 2 year Masters Degree. The program's Community Outreach Partnership Program gives students an opportunity for hands on work in local Florida Communities.
