The job outlook for Biomedical Engineering is promising as our dependency on Healthcare related services increases in the United States. The influx of Baby Boomers into retirement as well as increased pressure on Healthcare reform has been the major contributing factor which is extremely beneficial for Biomedical Engineers which make up less than 1% of all types of Engineers according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

While Biomedical Engineers make up only a fraction of the percentage of all Engineers, the focus on medical and healthcare related problems will allow that percentage to continue to grow over the next 10 to 20 years at an increased rate. Biomedical Engineering is also a very profitable career earning on average somewhere between $50,000 and $60,000. As the need for Biomedical Engineers grows so will the salary.
